» » compatibility with EZ100PR smart card reader Compatibility with EZ100PR smart card reader. Is it possible to read an identity card with that (serial)reader? I'm working on linux, I tried with the ACR30U (USB) reader and that works fine. Is there any limitations with serial reader. When I try to read the card with pcscscan function, it can detect that it's a Belgian Identity Card.
But when I launch the 'beidgui' software it said 'card is unssuported'. Laurent -17 Jun 2008, 16:57:43. The pcscscan utility detects that it is a Belgian eID card because it is seems to correctly receive the ATR from the card.17 Jun 2008, 22:10:36. And what's next?
Is this a good sign, what do I have to do to make it works? -18 Jun 2008, 13:02:39.
It is a good sign in the sense that your operating system should - in theory - be able to use the card (otherwise, the ATR would not transmitted). It seems to be a middleware problem. I will query on it.19 Jun 2008, 10:17:01.
I did another check with the 'opensc-tool' utility. I typed this command: opensc-tool -serial and I get this in return: sccardctl(., SCCARDCTLGETSERIALNR,.) failed before I have started the 'pcscd' daemon with 'pcscd -apdu -foreground'. Here is the output: 11867956 eventhandler.c:438:EHStatusHandlerThread Card inserted into CASTLES EZ100PR 0029 Card ATR: 3B 98 13 40 0A A5 03 01 01 01 AD 18715 prothandler.c:130:PHSetProtocol Attempting PTS to T=0 00669552 APDU: 00 CA DF 9695 SW: 6D 6 APDU: 00 CA DF 3300 SW: 6D 00. What do you think of this?

So because I don't have the source code, I'm waiting for it from the provider.
Thks for reading me.20 Jun 2008, 11:19:23. Have you tried the eidenv command? -24 Jun 2008, 12:34:32. Hi, could you enable the apdu logging in the pcsc logs? I think there may be a problem wrt the communication protocol 'T=1' or 'T=0' that is used between the card and the reader. If your card reader's configuration files would have the possibility to fine-tune the default communication protocol, I would recommend 'T=0'.08 Jul 2008, 10:41:24. The compiled time of the driver that I have is year 2004. By that time the pcsc library version was 1.1.1, and now we are on version 1.4. I try to downgrade my version but the latest that I can get is 1.2.
A version 1.1 came with the driver package, I did 'alien -i packagename' to install it, cause it was a redhat package. Now in the '/var/log/message' I can see 'pcscd segmentation fault'. If I typed 'pcscd -v' in a command line, it give version '1.1.1' as a response. By the way, How can I set 'T=0' in my '/etc/reader.conf' configuration files? What is the correct sentence.
By now I have this in my file: FRIENDLYNAME 'Castles EZ100PR' DEVICENAME /dev/ttyS2 LIBPATH /usr/lib/readers/ez100pr.so CHANNELID 0x000030. thanks again for your time.09 Jul 2008, 10:55:22. problem solved. I got a new version of the driver, if someone else want the driver. Thanks again for your time.11 Jul 2008, 13:57:02. Hi. I'm having the same problems with EZ100PR.
